At Crystal Alchemy®, each piece of jewellery is crafted with care, intention, and attention to detail.
To help your silver and gold-plated treasures maintain their beauty and longevity, we’ve created this simple care guide.

When purchasing a Talisman, as a part of your shipment you will receive a complementary care guide, jewellery cloth, air tight sleeve and a suede pouch, as well as a hard flip case for transit and storing of your precious possession or gift. In addition your Talisman will also receive complimentary gift wrapping and ribbon. 

Caring for Silver Jewellery

925 9terling silver naturally oxidises over time, creating a light tarnish that can easily be restored to shine with proper care.

Tips for silver jewellery care:

  • Store silver pieces in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch.

  • Avoid exposure to moisture, humidity, lotions, perfumes, and cleaning agents.

  • Do not wear silver jewellery in water, the ocean, showers, pools, sunbathing or while exercising, as sweat and moisture can accelerate tarnishing.

  • If tarnish occurs, use a professional silver polishing cloth and only gently wipe the piece of jewellery. We have provided you with one as a part of your shipment.

With regular gentle care, your silver jewellery will retain its lustre and radiance for many years.

Caring for Gold-Plated Jewellery

The 24 kt Gold plating involves a delicate layer of gold over the metal which is 925 sterling silver. With time and wear, this layer can fade or dull, especially when exposed to friction, moisture, or chemicals.

Tips for gold-plated jewellery care:

  • Always remove gold-plated jewellery before showering, swimming, or applying lotions, perfumes, and sprays.

  • Store pieces of jewellery separately to prevent scratches and rubbing, ideally in a fabric-lined jewellery box or pouch.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or cleaning solutions.

  • Treat gold-plated jewellery very gently to preserve the plating and shine.

If your piece begins to lose some of its original brightness, gently wipe the item with a professional jewellery cloth or the one provided. After years of use you may need a professional re-plating can restore its finish.

General Jewellery Care Tips

  • Keep jewellery away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

  • Always put on jewellery last - after skincare, makeup, and hair products.

  • When not in use, store each item in a soft pouch or air tight sleeve to protect it from dust and humidity.
